Charleston SC Photography
Charleston is one of those cities that it doesn’t matter whether you live there permanently, have a beach house, or take occasional vacations, you can always enjoy and experience new activities that it has to offer. The opportunities to have fun are so diverse and unique that the fun never ends.
The town of Charleston has best been described as historically quaint. The charming town is packed with historical events that will continue to amaze. If you are in the mood to travel back in time, then the Battery should be first on your list. The Battery is located at the southern most tip of Charleston, and it is known for the architecture, old cannons, and huge historic live oaks that surround it. The view from the Battery is spectacular in that you can see Fort Sumter much like the soldiers would have. The next stop on your historical journey should be to the City Market. This market was built in 1841 when the cultural Gullah woman and men used to sell sweet grass baskets in the open air buildings. It is truly remarkable that these men and women have continued their culture by selling the sweet grass baskets at the City Market to this day. Rainbow Row is another important attraction because it serves as the “face” of Charleston. Once seen as the “slum area” in the Civil war, Rainbow Row now is beautifully painted in bright colors. If history isn’t really your thing, then I suggest visiting the South Carolina Aquarium located in Charleston. Here you will have the exclusive opportunity to see an albino alligator and even pet a stingray! Last but not least, you should find some time to visit Folly Beach. Known as the “edge of America”, Folly has kept the style of old-school beaches by not being overdeveloped. Whether it is surfing, fishing, or tanning in the golden sun, you will enjoy the activities Folly Beach has to offer. While having a little bit of everything, Charleston ensures that anyone who travels there will thoroughly enjoy the time they spend.
